Free the Uyghurs

AOn July 29.07.2019, 1, we released the first video of our Uyghur memorial in Marrakech. We wrote to all the Arabic newspapers explaining what we had done and received no response. Only after we told the newspapers that the first row of the memorial was for gay Jews did the memorial enter Moroccan history as the "Marrakech Holocaust Memorial." Hatred triumphed over solidarity with the Muslim Uyghurs. To this day, no Muslim country in the world supports the Uyghurs to the extent they need. Hopefully, in 100 years, the first memorial for the Muslim Turkic people of the Uyghurs will be seen as a turning point in the solidarity of Muslim countries with the Uyghurs.

Together we want to rebuild every building that China has destroyed in other countries and leave its use to the respective state, with the aim of preventing China from eradicating the Uyghur culture.

If the Chinese were to demolish 1000 churches, the outrage in Europe would be immense. A fire in a cathedral here can ignite worldwide solidarity. 1000 mosques and Christian churches have already been destroyed in China. We offered all Uyghurs the opportunity to rebuild these churches as exact replicas abroad, in order to foster global solidarity for the oppressed Muslim people. Unfortunately, most Uyghurs are refugees or living in Chinese re-education camps and are destitute. Therefore, we have set up a GoFundMe campaign. Depending on how much we raise, we will build either a library, a mosque, or a tomb.

China has destroyed over 1000 mosques, tombs, and shrines in three years. Beijing is systematically destroying the culture and religion of the Muslim Uyghurs. We demand religious freedom in China, respect for human rights, and democratic elections for a better future. All mosques must be rebuilt at China's expense. #Uyghurs must be able to freely practice their faith.

Whenever a European trembles, a Uyghur quivers under torture. In China, Islam is forbidden, a dream for right-wing idiots. 200 mosques have been torn down; the Chinese don't want to know anything about it. They lock up the Uyghurs and laugh up their sleeves. Anyone in China who believes in Allah has their children stolen from their sleep.

And then, when all the Muslims are gone, Xi Jinping says that was very nice. Because all the other countries watched, but they like China's money. They're happy to look the other way for that, even while the Uyghurs lie in the dirt. A Quran is the ticket there, the annual pass for concentration camp torture.

Brainwash the Uyghurs, Mohammed wouldn't allow that. Ride all the way to the Great Wall of China and lie in wait. Send his horsemen to Hong Kong, Tibet, and beyond. Gather all the Muslims behind him and give Xi Jinping a good slap. Then there will be democracy in China and never again Islamophobia.

The Chinese central government is attempting to suppress unrest in the province through re-education camps and close surveillance. The existence of such facilities was officially confirmed by the government in October 2018, while at the same time denying allegations of mistreatment there.

Much has changed for the Uyghurs, a Muslim Turkic people in the Chinese province of Xinjiang, in recent years (photo from September 22, 2013; ruins of a demolished mosque in Kashgar). But even the political leadership in Beijing has had to recognize that it cannot control the largest province in the west of the People's Republic.

Chinese policy in Xinjiang is similar to that in Buddhist Tibet: ethnic Chinese and their companies are being deliberately lured there. They are also the primary beneficiaries of government infrastructure programs and investments. In schools, the local language is increasingly being replaced by Mandarin. As a result, the Uyghurs are turning to religion to maintain their identity. The more the government suppresses Islam, the more radicalized they become.

We demand the immediate release of all Uyghurs and the introduction of
Religious freedom in China. Everyone should be able to believe what they want, whether in the Flying Spaghetti Monster or one of the world's religions. China must stop hindering its citizens from exercising their religious freedom. The German Basic Law guarantees religious freedom – the Chinese constitution should take this as an example.
